Stourbridge 4 Mangotsfield 1
Stourbridge hitman Leon Broadhurst returned from injury to hit a hat-trick that took his tally to 20 goals so far this season.
In doing so, he helped the Glassboys to a much-needed first home win in 2009.
The home side made the brighter start and might have gone ahead in the ninth minute, when a long throw-in from Les Hines was headed on by Sam Smith – making his first start following his arrival from Romulus – but Shane Benjamin turned the ball the wrong side of the post from close range.
On 24 minutes, Hines delivered in a deep corner from the left that fell to Ross Collins at the back of the area and although his goalbound shot was blocked, Broadhurst was on hand to stab the ball home through a crowd of players.
That lead was cancelled out just seven minutes later with O'Connor receiving the ball with his back to goal on the edge of the box, but he turned sweetly before hitting a crisp rising volley past Lewis Solly into the top corner of the net.
A double change for the Glassboys paid off as Broadhurst grabbed a second goal on 75 minutes.
A long free-kick towards the visitors box from Hines was headed on by Smith and although sub Sam Rock saw his strike cannon back off the crossbar, Broadhurst converted the rebound to fire the hosts ahead.
Six minutes from time, Broadhurst was handed the chance to complete his hat-trick when the Glassboys were awarded a debatable penalty.
Hadley received a short corner from Dave Bridgwater and was then adjudged to have been tripped by Wilmot.Broadhurst duly drove home the resulting spot-kick.
A fourth goal in stoppage time gave the scoreline a flattering look.
A Solly goal-kick bounced through to Rock who laid the ball off to Drake on his left and the youngster beat Clapham with a low shot to seal an important win.
