Assistant bemoans more lost time

Kidderminster assistant manager Neil Howarth has the led the chorus of disdain from Aggborough as his side start another midweek without a game.

Harriers were originally supposed to go to Ebbsfleet tonight to make another dent in their remaining fixtures but, due to their hosts involvement in the Setanta Shield, the game had to be rearranged last week.

Now the very real prospect of five games in 10 days - four of those away - lies in wait for Howarth and Co and, with 34 games played, only Ebbsfleet themselves and Kettering have played fewer games with 32.

Still, the Aggborough club's position could be far worse and, with games in hand on all of the teams above them, four points away from the last play-off place puts them right back in it.

But Howarth admits his side have not been helped by the fixture backlog.

He said: "It's very annoying, we had Ebbsfleet tonight but for some reason the Setanta Shield is more important. Now we are stuck with no game and we have got to cram them in later in the season now.

"But, like the manager has said, there's nothing we can do about it, so we are gonna have to tackle it head on."

Harriers finally return to action when Woking come to town on Saturday and the visitors will face a side in form, unbeaten in four games - three of those wins.

Howarth added: "No one is getting ahead of themselves, we have a lot of tough games between now and the season. The league table says it's ours to lose, but there will be plenty of twists and turns to come yet."
