New boy Clements set to start
Stafford manager Chris Brindley will hand new signing Chris Clements his full debut as Rangers return to action at Redditch tonight (7:45pm).
The 19-year-old midfielder will start after signing on an initial one-month loan deal from League One Crewe, replacing Chris Flynn in the centre of the park, who has signed for Unibond League Eastwood.
Clements is highly thought of at Gresty Road and has been on the fringes of the first-team for most of the season but, with the Railwaymen facing a relegation fight, has been allowed to come to Marston Road to further his footballing education.
With Liam Murray on board to replace Jonathan Loukes, who left Rangers last week to take up a coaching position in the USA, Brindley is back up to a full squad again - albeit temporarily - but will have to do without striker Nick Wellecomme at Redditch.
That will see a recall for Mark Magee in attack to partner David McNiven.
Brindley said: "This is a vital game for us. We have had a nice little break now and we are ready to go. Chris is now with us, he will play tonight and we need him, because we have lost two midfielders in the last week.
"But Nick is not available, so Mark will play up front with David McNiven - but apart from that we are fully stocked."
The Rangers boss is demanding better from his side after two straight away defeats and a trip to their relegation threatened rivals ends a sequence of three trips, with Droylsden the visitors to Marston Road on Saturday.
Brindley believes that a minimum of three wins should be enough to secure their Blue Square North status for next season and, if they can vanquish Gary Whild's side tonight, they could be a third of the way there.
The Stafford chief said: "We have got to start performing and we have got to start picking up points. It's a big game, the lads know that and with the situation we are in we need to take something from it. Seven points is still a couple of games breathing space - but it won't last forever.
"But if we don't win any games we will be relegated, it is as simple as that. So we can't worry about any other team, our only concern should be what we are doing and where we are headed.
"I think three more wins or so will be enough for us to survive."
