Eastwood move for unsettled Flynn
Unsettled Stafford midfielder Chris Flynn could leave the club this week after Eastwood were granted permission to talk to the player.
The 21-year-old returned to the club in January after his release from Northwich, and has since become an integral part of the Rangers' midfield.
But now the Unibond League outfit have made their move and came speak with Flynn tomorrow, after submitting a seven-day approach for the player.
As one of the better resourced clubs at their level, Eastwood are also likely to be able to offer a better financial package, whereas the former Crewe trainee is only on non-contract terms at Marston Road.
Rangers' boss Chris Brindley believes the player has had his head turned.
The manager said: "It has unsettled the player, to be fair. He has not been the player he was over these last two games, at a time when we needed him to be at his best. I think all this has had a bit of an impact on him.
"I don't know whether he will stay. Eastwood have put seven days in for him and can pay a lot of money, so what can we do? We want him to stay, but it all depends on him really.
"They are free to speak to him tomorrow, so we will have to wait and see."
Rangers have also lost midfielder Jonathan Loukes, who leaves the club this week to take up a coaching position in the USA.
Brindley has brought in another former Marston Road man in Liam Murray as a replacement, who was among the subs at Burscough on Saturday.
The manager said: "He has come in as a straight replacement at the moment. I had to get somebody in to plug the gap, Liam knows the club and we are pleased to have him here.
"He will play at Alfreton tomorrow and, of course, Jonathan leaves with our best wishes."
