Assistant calls for right response

Kidderminster assistant manager Neil Howarth has urged his side to use the clash with Cambridge as the springboard to getting their promotion attack back on track.

Harriers are back in Blue Square Premier action two days after a shock 2-1 defeat to whipping boys Northwich on home soil.

Now the Setanta cameras are in town for another home game against fellow promotion chasers and, with a place and a point separating the two, the visitors could be leapfrogged in defeat.

Unless Harriers hand out a six or more goal drubbing, it will not be enough to storm back into the play-off places but, after one league win in 2009, three points would be more than welcome.

With the team not back in action until a tough trip to Wrexham next Tuesday night, Howarth knows another defeat would only add to the bad mood around Aggborough.

He said: "Northwich was a real blow, to lose a game like that and for most of our rivals to win has hurt us. But we have a real chance to do something about it against Cambridge, a team we can go above with a win.

"The fact that it's an evening game, in front of the cameras with a good crowd should give us that extra bit of a lift. We find ourselves in a bit of a disappointing position really after recent games, so this is an important game for us.

"We don't want to go into another break from action on the back of another defeat, thats for sure."
