Harriers boss stunned by defeat
Kidderminster manager Mark Yates concedes his side were second best in the wake of a shock defeat to bottom club Northwich to Aggborough.
Harriers were beaten 2-1 on a ground where they had previously tasted a league defeat just twice all season, against a team coming into the match with no win in 15 games.
Yates' men had even led through Matthew Barnes-Homer's 10th minute opener, only for Damien Reeves to equalise on the half hour.
The home side then wasted a host of chances before the sucker punch - Dean McDonald's 82nd minute winner.
The manager admitted his side had been "bitten" after the work.
He said: "Credit to Northwich, they had nothing to lose and came and gave it a right go. We just didn't take our chances when they came along, and lacked a bit of urgency and tempo.
"We just lacked that that killer touch, be it creating chances or putting the ball in the back of the net and it's come back to bite us."
Harriers midfielder Andy Ferrell also conceded it was a deserved loss.
He said: "The best team won as far as I'm concerned. Everyone was expecting us to win and we've shot ourselves in the foot."
The focus now turns to an immediate chance of a reprieve - a Setanta televised home game against Cambridge tomorrow night (7:45pm).
Yates added: "It'll be a battle but it'll be two good teams under the floodlights and the ball will zip a bit quicker. We will do whatever we need to do to prepare properly."
