Villa tumbled out of the FA Cup after an Everton onslaught at Goodison Park.

The visitors found themselves on the back foot ever since Jack Rodwell's third minute opener.

A penalty converted by James Milner, after Gabby Agbonlahor went down under pressure from Tony Hibbert, was Villa's only lifeline.

All this happened in the first eight minutes.

The game was just 24 minutes old when the referee pointed to the spot again, this time in Everton's favour, after Steve Sidwell felled Victor Anichebe.

Mikel Arteta made no mistake, but it took until the 76th minute for the home side to settle the tie.

After Agbonlahor and Ashley Young had wasted good chances for Villa, Tim Cahill forced the ball home from Anichebe's cross to put Everton into the fifth round.
