Harriers bring in midfielder Carr
Kidderminster have signed midfielder Michael Carr for the rest of the season after his release from League Two Morecambe.
The 24-year-old knows the non-league scene well, with over 100 appearances for former club Northwich and seven caps for the England C national team.
Carr could make his debut in the Setanta-televised Blue Square North match against Cambridge at Aggborough next Monday night, with Russell Penn still out for several weeks with a sprained knee ligament.
Harriers' FA Trophy replay at York tonight has been called off due to the weather, but Carr wouldn't have been been available anyway - only players who were registered for the initial tie are free to play.
The winners of the rearranged game a week tomorrow will face either Crawley or Havant & Waterlooville at home in the quarter-finals.
Manager Mark Yates said: "Michael is a decent player and, with Russ out injured, he will add cover to that area until the end of the season. I have been looking around, I have known him for a little while and I feel he will be a useful addition to our squad.
"He is young, plays football the right way and is 6ft plus - just the sort of player we want at the club."
There is also good news for Harriers defender Martin Riley, who has been called into the England C squad for the first time since signing from Wolves in the summer.
He is part of a 16-man squad named for the friendly fixture against Malta under-21's later this month.
Yates added: "The England C manager phoned me a couple of weeks ago and asked me to recommend a couple of players and Martin was a name I suggested. He is a young player who has done ever so well since coming into the side these past couple of months.
"He deserves his chance at international level."
