Flynn will play on for Rangers
Stafford have reached an agreement with midfielder Chris Flynn for him to play against Gainsborough at Marston Road tomorrow (3pm).
The 21-year-old returned to the club last week after his release from Northwich, in time to score twice in a 3-3 draw at Harrogate and play in Tuesday's defeat at Hucknall.
His short-term contract expired after the midweek game and, although he has not signed another deal, the former Crewe trainee will take in place in midfield for the Blue Square North clash.
Rangers' boss Chris Brindley still doesn't know whether he will be able to offer the midfield enforcer a deal next week, with the club still in talks to bring in another target.
But Flynn will play and striker Nick Wellecomme will also make his first start since rejoining the club last month, after recovering from a groin injury.
Brindley said: "Chris has agreed to play on Saturday and hopefully next week we can sort his situation out one way or other. I don't want to make any promises, because he may not be here on Monday. But we certainly need him at the moment.
"We are hopeful of making an addition, maybe even before tomorrow, but there is still a lot of work to do in that respect. It could well be that, if it's going to happen, that it will go ahead on Monday.
"We are trying around the clock to get people in - there will be people coming and going."
Rangers' home form has been truly dreadful this season, with just two league wins all season at Marston Road, the last coming against Blyth Spartans on September 13.
Their last game on home soil, a 2-0 defeat to Burscough, had Brindley fuming and his luck has not changed for the better since.
A last-kick-of-the-game equaliser at Harrogate robbed them of a win, while a 3-1 defeat at the bottom side in midweek was another big disappointment.
Brindley said: "If you can't win games - you are going to be in trouble, we all know that. The players are working hard to get the points we need to stay in the league.
"It's well documented that we have been poor at Marston Road all season. With our sort of home form, you are not going to be very high in the league. Our last home performance against Burscough was as bad as it gets really, so we must improve on that.
"The fans have suffered all season and I can understand they are frustrated - but we need them to stick by us."
