Moore to stay for rest of season

Kidderminster striker Stefan Moore will sign a new deal tomorrow that will keep him at Aggborough until the end of the season.

The 25-year-old had been on a rolling month-to-month deal since joining the club as a free agent in September, after a summer without a club since his release from Walsall.

He has been in and out of the team, making three starts and coming on six times as a sub, but started and was a real handful alongside top scorer Justin Richards in the FA Trophy win at Ilkeston on Tuesday night.

Moore has had a hard time getting a start, with Richards forming one half of the hottest pair in the Blue Square Premier with Matthew Barnes-Homer. He has had to dig his heels along with Darryl Knights but, when called upon, has impressed.

The former Villa striker is highly valued by Yates as another option in the squad and, with his future set to be settled until the summer, Moore can concentrate on honing his undoubted ability.

Yates said: "Stefan will be signing hopefully tomorrow until the end of the season. I have been looking to get him tied up for the past couple of weeks and I am pleased that we are now close to doing that.

"He played very well at Ilkeston and proved what a threat that he can be. It shows the options in attack that we have here at the club. With him, Justin, Matthew Barnes-Homer and Darryl Knights, it is an area where we look very strong.

"Hopefully we can add over January, but at the moment I wanted to get Stefan signed up and settled for the rest of the campaign. Keeping our good players is part of what we need to do."
