Worry for Rangers after another call off

Stafford first-team coach Darren Read is worried that Rangers' may lose their way if the weather leaves them without a game for any longer.

The league game at the De Montfort Park Stadium had to be called off on Saturday, because of a frozen pitch. It was no great surprise - not one Blue Square North fixture survived the big freeze.

It left Rangers without a game for the second week in succession. You now have to go back to New Years Day for their last taste of action, the epic 1-0 win at local rivals AFC Telford.

At least Read will have another week on the training field with the squad, who have half a team full of new players, but the Marston Road men will not want to be out of action for much longer.

He said: "The worry is that we seem to be losing that bit of momentum at the moment from the Telford game. That seems like a million years ago now, but at least the players have another week on the training field. People forget we have a new-look side.

"The rest of the league seem to be playing catch up on games with us at the moment, which could have been good, but none of them ended up playing. It was no great surprise when Hinckley called to tell us that the game was off.

"If Portsmouth in the Premier League can't get a game on, then what chance have we got?"
