Halesowen had to settle for their second league draw of the season in a disappointing stalemate.

The Yeltz were without Portuguese stars Nuno Barreto and Ruben Gouveia and an open start saw Mark Danks fire just over from 20 yards.

Visiting goalkeeper Danny Ireland proved a safe pair of hands and made a good 22nd-minute save from Troy Wood.

Evesham keeper Nathan Vaughan twice denied Justin Rowe and, seconds before the interval, Jay Denny steered Aaron Cornwall's cross wide.

Halesowen applied the pressure and forced several corners early in the second half. Dean Smith sprayed the ball out for Cornwall to cross to Danks just six yards out, but his weak 53rd-minute effort was saved.

Michael Briscoe's shot through a crowded goalmouth was saved by Vaughan in the 67th minute.

Evesham blew several chances to win the game in the final ten minutes. Halesowen then almost snatched three points with the final kick, when Danks had more time than he realised and was unable to convert.

Halesowen: Ireland; Smith, Cowley, Canoville, Hoyte, Briscoe, Cornwall, Caskey, Rowe, Danks, Denny.
