Moult returns for depleted Rangers

Stafford manager Chris Brindley can call upon midfielder Jake Moult for the crunch local derby with AFC Telford at Marston Road (3pm).

Moult is one of the few left from the Steve Bull regime and was widely expected to leave with the rest of the exodus, in the wake of the recent financial troubles at the club.

He was interesting Unibond League outfit Nantwich but that has not come to pass and he returns from suspension for the first leg of the Telford double-header.

The Boxing Day Marston Road clash precedes the return Blue Square North match at the New Bucks Head on New Years Day.

Moult looks to be on board for both and, with the squad so tight Brindley had to name himself on the bench on Saturday, the classy playmaker will be much needed.

Brindley said: "Jake was not available at Farsley, but now he is and he will play against Telford. We are glad to have him back. He will be straight back into the side.

"He is the sort of player we can really use in these two games. I have worked something out with him for now, whether he will stay at the club I just don't know.

"Maybe now I won't have to name myself on the bench now!"

Rangers face a Telford side third in the league, with one of the biggest fan bases in the league, so expect a white hot crowd home and away over the the festive period.

Few would back Brindley's men for anything, even on home turf, other then defeat after their recent traumas.

They can probably take heart from the fact that Telford have been in an even worse state than Rangers currently are they were even liquidised on in May 2004.

The club reformed and now are flying high- prove of what can happen with the right backing.

Brindley added: "Anything we can get out of these next two games is a bonus. It will be a local derby and we have had our problems recently, so it could have come at a better time.

"It is going to be very tough, but no one here will be giving up."
