Brindley believes in Rangers revival
New Stafford manager Chris Brindley believes that the club's position is getting better "hour by hour."
Brindley was confirmed as the new boss this week, with the club still in a perilous position after the departure of manager Steve Bull and the majority of the playing squad.
England C cap Danny Alcock has become the latest to leave the club, the highly-rated goalkeeper expected to sign for a rival Blue Square North club shortly.
But better news is that four regular first-teamers are expected to play on for Rangers at Farsley on Saturday, despite seeing their wages halved.
Centre-back duo Nick Amos and Stuart Pierpoint trained at Marston Road on Tuesday night, while striker David McNiven - the highest earner at the club - and skipper Wayne Daniel are expected to train with the squad tonight.
Their decision has been one of the few boosts so far for Brindley.
He said: "They should all play on Saturday, as far as I now. We need them at the moment. Three defenders and a striker who have been regularly in the side will give us that bit more experience.
"I am also talking to a couple of players who could sign up for Saturday, depending on what I can work out with them. We need players, there is no getting away from that."
"We have had a number of players leave the club, so from one perspective the wage bill has been significantly cut."
Despite what he has to work with, Brindley is pleased to be in charge of the side, although not even he is not sure of how long he will be manager.
He does have one sad tinge on his appointment as boss - the departure of his predecessor.
He said: "Myself and first-team coach Darren Read would like to thank Steve for bringing us to the club and giving us the chance to be involved. We are all very sad to see him go.
"But someone needs to get this club on a level footing and I am sure Steve would not like to see this club in trouble.
"At this point, I could be manager for two weeks or two years, but I am a worker and I will give it my all.
"My first priority is to get this club secured in the Blue Square North for next season, then we can build from there."
