Yates relived after trophy win
Kidderminster manager Mark Yates admits his side were under-par despite progressing into the second round of the FA Trophy.
Harriers made extremely hard work of getting past Andy Mutch's plucky Burscough side at Aggborough last night, the score 1-1 with 20 minutes to go, although the home side eventually ran out 3-2 winners.
Yates has had to deal with a bug that swept through the club this week, making victims of the likes of Dean Coleman, Dean Bennett and Chris Beardsley.
But the promotion contenders are through at least, where they will now go to Unibond Premier League outfit Ilkeston on January 10.
The tie will come the weekend after Harriers become the underdogs, when they take on Championship side Coventry in the third round of the FA Cup.
The two weekends will be chalk and cheese more than likely and, with four league games to go before they can think of either, Yates is urging his team to stay focussed.
He said: "We didn't play well but we got through and thats cup football for you. We go to Ilkeston in the second round and, away from home, it will be a tough tie.
"When it comes round, we have to be ready for that but we have a host of things to deal with before that. We have league games and the FA Cup tie as well, so it is important we just take each task as it comes.
"But I am pleased with where we are at this point."
