Bull, who was signing copies of his DVD and Christmas cards in Wolverhampton's packed Mander Centre, was still upset at the decision of the Marston Road board to remove him from office due to the club's financial crisis.

But the record Molineux goalscorer insisted he wants to get back into the game as soon as possible.

He said: "I am still shocked and saddened by what has happened. I feel I have done nothing wrong and I felt we were going places.

"I know had the players with me - they are a great bunch and after I was told to leave, the eight or nine of them there said there and then 'that's it' - they were ready to quit the club in support of me.

"I feel I was only just starting to get my teeth into the job and was really enjoying it - despite the difficulties. The players were with me all the way and I just hope some chairman will give me a chance to manage again in the New Year.

"Let's get Christmas out of the way first and I'll be keen to get straight back into it. I have loved every minute of it and I feel I can do the job."

Bully is prepared to put himself about in order to get another stab on the management ladder.

"I am quite prepared to put my CV around and see what happens," added the Wolves vice president who scored 306 goals in 561 games during a 13-year spell at Molineux and who played 13 times for England scoring four goals.
