Kidderminster striker Stefan Moore has a warning for Harriers as the feel good factor at Aggborough heightens: "don't do a Walsall."
Moore was part of a Walsall side last season that fell away from League One promotion contention in the second half of the campaign, after occupying a play-off spot at the start of the year.
Harriers are in even loftier heights, four points clear of sixth place, with eight wins and just one defeat out of their last nine games. They have been beaten just once at Aggborough all season.
The home faithful have much cause to dream at the moment, but Moore warns nothing have been achieved yet.
He said: "I know from my time at Walsall what can happen when a team falls from promotion contention in the second half of the season. That is why we have to keep firing on all cylinders.
"The application we have shown so far has been great but we need to keep doing that game after game. It is far too early to set end of season targets.
"Walsall for me overachieved last season and didn't have the squad when it mattered later on in the campaign. That is why they fell away.
"We have 18 to 20 players here that can make all the difference at this level. So I reckon it could be a different story here."
Moore was an unused substitute in Harriers' latest success, a 2-0 win against Mansfield on Tuesday night, a reoccuring theme for a player who has made just two starts.
Justin Richards and Matthew Barnes-Homer are the first choices as the hottest combo in the Blue Square Premier, with Darryl Knights and on-loan striker Chris Beardsley rivalling Moore for any spot that becomes vacant.
The former Aston Villa man is happy to fight for his place.
He said: "Just like any other player, I want to play first-team football. I am struggling to get a game here at the moment, with the players I have got in front of me.
"When you have the most profilic pair in the league, you have got to expect that. But competition for places is healthy. I have just got to get my head down, keep training hard and take my chance when it comes.
"I will do that and you'll hear no moaning from me."
