The 24-year-old is eligible for the first time since returning to Aggborough on loan deadline day, for an initial month from Blue Square Premier rivals Kettering.

But even with top scorer Justin Richards sidelined for up to four weeks with an eye injury, competition is still reasonably fierce for one of the two spots in the Harriers attack.

Stefan Moore was preferred to partner first-choice Matthew Barnes-Homer in attack last weekend, doing his chances no harm with his first goal for the club in the 2-0 FA Cup defeat of Curzon Ashton.

Darryl Knights is also jostling for a place, leaving Yates with a welcome headache ahead of the Blue Square Premier clash.

The boss said: "Chris is a good player and he has been brought in to ensure that competiton for places is rife. Hopefully we can have an embarrassment of riches in that position before too long.

"He will be in contention for Saturday."

Harriers welcome a club in crisis in Nick Holmes' side, who has seen his squad decimated by a raft of player departures in the wake of their financial problems, with captain Aaron Cook and highly-rated striker Matt Tubbs among those already gone.

Yates has encountered club's in the midst of such a crisis before and is, as always, taking nothing for granted.

He added: "Salisbury are having their problems at the moment, which have been well documented, but that will not make it any easier for us. They will have a siege mentality and you can get things done with that.

"Grays was a similar test when they came to Aggbrough. That day, we conduted ourselves in a professional manner and came away with the three points.

"We are good at home and that is what we need to focus on come Saturday."
