Bully will wait on the window
Stafford manager Steve Bull has admitted that there will be no further transfer activity in or out of Marston Road until the New Year.
Stafford manager Steve Bull has admitted that there will be no further transfer activity in or out of Marston Road until the New Year.
November saw Christmas come early for Bully in the striking department, with two new forwards in Mark Magee and the marquee signing of Louis Briscoe finally ending the striking drought at Rangers.
Classy midfielder Jake Moult is another new face on board, with all three looking to make the big difference for the eighth-placed side.
The transfer window has an effect on clubs even at Blue Square North level, in relation to who can be brought in, with Bully known to have a keen interest in promising youngsters from higher levels.
The boss concedes that players will leave if that plan comes to fruition, but he will not be letting anybody go until all bases are covered.
That means a quiet December on the player front at Marston Road.
He said: "It is best for us to wait until January now. This is my squad now. I feel that we have added enough and have enough here to get us through December at the very least.
"Come January 1, we will start to have a look about and see what is available. Some work towards that will start his month, so we will be prepared as anyone in the transfer market come the New Year.
"There is a lot of movement in January, because of the transfer window, with clubs in the higher league not wanting to let players go until they have all areas covered.
"Hopefully we can nip in and if we could pick up a couple of gems, that would be great. Players may have to leave, because I need to keep within the budget, but nothing is set in stone yet."
