Stourbridge 3 Hucknall 2
Stourbridge pulled off an upset to make it through to the last 64 of the FA Trophy thanks to a dramatic turnaround in the last five minutes of this exciting cup-tie.
Trailing 2-1 with time running out, two Leon Broadhurst headers sealed a memorable victory over Blue Square North opponents.
The Nottinghamshire side opened the scoring with 13 minutes played. Richard Liburd delivered in a cross from the left and Gary Ricketts, in space in the middle, sent a deft flicked volley beyond Lewis Solly.
Seven minutes later, the Glassboys got back on level terms following a mistake from visiting keeper James Lindley, who inexplicably spilled a harmless looking right wing cross from Ashley Langford.
The ball dropped to the feet of Broadhurst, who looked set to equalise but he was fouled by Hucknall defender Chris Timons as he prepared to shoot.
It left the referee with little choice but to award a penalty to the home side and send off Timons. Les Hines stepped forward to send Lindley the wrong way.
With a man advantage Stourbridge, looked to capitalise and Broadhurst saw his 30th minute shot flash wide of the post.
Then two minutes later Sam Rock played a square pass to Drew Canavan just outside the box and, with a neat first touch, he worked himself an opening before hitting a shot that Lindley saved by his right-hand post.
Stourbridge threatened again on 37 minutes, with Broadhurst finding Linden Dovey on the right and from his deep cross Rock did well to stretch and get in an angled header that clipped the crossbar.
Gary Hackett's side suffered a blow six minutes after the restart as Ricketts unlocked the home defence with a clever through ball for Danny Bacon.
Although the former Lincoln City striker was partially stopped by Solly, he found the net at the second time of asking, lifting the ball into the unguarded net from the right-hand side of the penalty area.
Stourbridge pushed hard to find a way back into the game but Hucknall defended doggedly in numbers to preserve their lead.
In the 64th minute, a blistering drive from Hines was parried by Lindley diving down to his left, but the visitors responded with Ricketts driving a low shot wide.
Hucknall might have grabbed a third goal in the 80 minute, as Ross Collins did well to stop Bacon in his tracks, but the ball rolled to Ricketts who wastefully lofted his shot over the bar. Stourbridge's persistence finally paid off with four minutes to go.
Hines sent over a corner from the right and Broadhurst got in a near post header that squeezed into the net off the underside of the crossbar to restore parity.
A rousing finale ensued as first in stoppage time Hucknall almost regained the lead when Solly missed a corner from Laurie Wilson that Bacon reached first.
He tried a chip that Solly got a hand to, before Nathan Bennett headed off the line.
Then Langford sent in a long cross and Broadhurst ghosted in to glance a header past Lindley to send the home crowd into raptures.
