Two goals in nine first-half minutes put pay to any Albion hopes of an Anfield upset as Liverpool ran out 3-0 winners in the end.

Robbie Keane's quickfire double put the home side firmly in command, before Alvaro Arbeloa added a third in injury time.

Keane was first on hand in the 33rd minute, converting Steven Gerrard's cross.

He then applied a similarly clinical finish in the 42nd minute, to meet Fabio Aurelio's ball on the edge of the penalty area.

Albion nearly managed to keep the second-half goalless, even with Fernando Torres replacing Keane.

They also saw Filipe Teixeira and Kim get some game time under their belts after injury.

The Baggies then took their foot off the gas three minutes into stoppage time and ended up conceding again.

Dirk Kuyt played in Arbeloa and he beat goalkeeper Scott Carson for the third.
