The centre-back has missed the last 10 games with a knee injury, although stand in pairing Bobby Wilson and Stuart Pierpoint have coped admirably in his absence.

Pierpoint was used at right-back in the midweek Setanta Shield defeat to Southport in midweek.

Should he remain there, it would possibly leave a choice of Amos or another stopper recently back from injury, Wayne Daniel, to a Rangers back line without a clean sheet in three games.

The 31-year-old Amos has been a regular choice for Bully since signing in the summer from Halesowen.

The manager is glad to have him back and can also welcome back on-loan attacker Marc Grocott and full-back James Cullingworth at the Northholme.

He said: "Their return will give me some right headaches in team selection but a welcome one, as they are much needed. Nick in particular is a first-choice defender and with Wayne Daniel back as well we are almost fully stocked again.

"That is not to take anything away from Bobby or Stuart, who have been superb. Centre-back is not Bobby's natural position but he has come on leaps and bounds. We asked Stuart to play right-back in midweek and that is not his position either, but he played out of his skin.

"I always say never change a winning side but we have lost three games on the bounce now and results don't lie."

Rangers still miss Andre Francis and Alex Morris from the squad through injury.
