Kidderminster manager Mark Yates is hoping to extend the current deal of striker Stefan Moore "over the next few days."
The former Premier League forward, a free agent since leaving Walsall in the summer, is coming to the end of his initial one-month deal.
Although most of his impact has been from the bench, Moore has done enough to impress the Harriers boss, who is set to extend the 25-year-old's stay.
He may even get a longer deal than the initial month offered to him.
Yates said: "I have had a chat with Stefan and hopefully we can work something out with him over the next few days. His initial one month terms will be up before too long, so we need to get him signed up.
"Stefan has been good since he came here and has been an asset in what is a tightly contested position at the club."
Moore started the 3-2 Setanta Shield defeat at Burton in midweek, where Harriers fielded a number of fringe players, but those that came in were spoken of fondly by the manager.
He said: "All the boys that came in against Burton did well and Darryl is no different. We have four strikers who look good at the moment, so we have the firepower to hurt teams.
"That is not to take attention away from the likes of David McDermott, goalkeeper Dean Coleman, Dean Bennett and Michael Bowler, who also played a good part."
