The Essex outfit are in turmoil, with their second-from-bottom position in the league merely the tip of the iceberg. Financial turmoil has engulfed the New Recreation Ground, with the players asked to take a 50 per cent pay cut to safeguard the club's future.

Hardly the best preparation for a trip to a ground where the Harriers have only been beaten once this term, although the visitors have beaten Mark Yates' men on their own patch earlier in the season.

Yates has had problems beating Grays' in the past and he takes their threat very seriously.

He said: "They have problems on and off the field that we know about. The problem is that could work against us. They will have that siege mentality, because things are not going well for them.

"They have taken a few knocks, but they will be up for it on Saturday I am sure. So we have to make sure we are up for it as well and do whatever it takes to gets the three points.

"We have stuttered a bit in the league recently, so it is a good time to get back on track."
