Saturday's home clash with struggling Grays precedes cup mode for Yates' men, a Tuesday night Setanta Shield third round tie at Burton and a FA Cup first round clash at home to Cambridge on Saturday week.

Three games in seven days will test any squad and the Harriers boss is of the opinion that the best way to tackle each side is to take each match as it comes.

He said: "It is a very tough tie against Cambridge. But we are pleased to be in the next round, we are at home and it is a game we can win. They are a good side and we know that, because we have already been beaten by them, so we will take them seriously.

"But our immediate focus is now on our home game on Saturday. It is a big week after that, in what is likely to be another big month for us. First and foremost though, we need to do a job on Grays."

"It depends on what you are after. If you want a big tie and a potential money-spinner, then you would hope for a better draw. But a decent cup run will bring money in as well, so come next Wednesday we need to focus on the task of getting into the second round.

"We have Burton in the Setanta Shield to deal with after Grays, so make no mistake it is a big week."

Yates will undertake the big week without the services of midfielder Neil MacKenzie, who has returned to Notts County after his one-month loan deal expired.

The Harriers manager added: "We have taken him on for a month and now he has gone back to Notts County. That is the end of the matter really. It is possible that something could happen again in the future."
