Parrys International Wolves owner Chris Van Straaten is desperate to see his side avoid a clash with the Premier League Play-off winners. To do that they must beat the East of England Showground side over two legs.

Peterborough co-promoter Mick Bratley has turned up the heat ahead of the first leg at Monmore Green on Tuesday.

He said: "I see Chris and his riders are getting together for a meal tonight – I reckon it could be like the last supper for them!"

Van Straaten responded with: "Mick can say what he likes, it's all about the riders on the track and we are trying to prepare ourselves for the biggest meeting of the season in a professional manner.

"We're desperate to beat Peterborough to avoid meeting the Premier League Play-off winners, but if we have to go down that route then we will meet the challenge head-on.

"This is a position we didn't want to be in, but we have to prepare and do the job as best we can."
