Moore the merrier after debut
Kidderminster manager Mark Yates hailed the impact of new signing Stefan Moore after his impressive debut in Harriers' 3-1 at Ebbsfleet.
Kidderminster manager Mark Yates hailed the impact of new signing Stefan Moore after his impressive debut in Harriers' 3-1 against Ebbsfleet.
When Moore climbed off the bench on Saturday, Harriers were still trailing to Ricky Shakes' 15th minute goal and looked to be on their way to losing back-to-back home games.
Within a minute of his arrival, he had set up Neil MacKenzie to equalise on his full debut, before crossing for Brian Smikle to give the home side the lead.
Matthew Barnes-Homer then got a match-killing third with a clinical finish in the 74th minute.
But it was former Villa and Walsall striker Moore, who signed a one-month contract on Friday, that had the fans and his boss purring.
Yates said: "Stef came and made all of the difference. He has that little bit of talent and everyone can see that. Two of his touches led to goals for us, which were down to his clever play.
"We know that he is a good player and we want to keep him at the club for as long as we can, because we know what he is about."
Yates also had words of praise for England C international Russell Penn, who produced an all-action display after his becoming a father on Friday afternoon.
The Harriers boss said: ""I thought Russell looked like he was back to his best on Saturday. He was on a high going into the game and it showed on the pitch. But it was a great team performance all round."
