Winger's best incentive of all
Kidderminster winger Brian Smikle knows that there could not be more of an incentive for the Harriers to win at Eastbourne on Saturday.
Kidderminster winger Brian Smikle knows that there could not be more of an incentive for the Harriers to win at Eastbourne on Saturday.
Not only would Mark Yates' men record their second away victory of the campaign with success in East Sussex but could find themselves top of the league - for the first time since they won the title in 2000.
Tuesday's 2-0 win against York at Aggborough puts the Harriers third and was their fifth win in six games. The emergence of some very good form on home soil has been the biggest factor.
The opening day draw with Lewes remains the only points dropped in six home games at 'Fortress Aggborough.'
Smikle, who opened the scoring in midweek, knows it is there for the taking.
He said: "We really needed that one to just get right up there. York had us under the cosh a bit but we sprung the counter-attack on them and it paid off.
"I think we've improved much more since we played Lewes. Hopefully we can go down to Eastbourne and get our second away win of the season.
"Our mindset will be that being top of the table is there for us - it's a fantastic incentive."
