Stourbridge 0 Brackley 1

Stourbridge lost narrowly in the first part of their double header, what with the two sides meeting again next week in the FA Cup.

Stourbridge won at Buxton for the second time in a week to add an FA Trophy win to their FA Cup victory.

A well-taken 39th-minute goal from Tom Winters proved enough for the visitors, despite an improved performance in the second-half from the Glassboys.

In a tight affair, a somewhat scrappy first period saw Craig Slater get in a fifth-minute header – from a flighted James Dyson free-kick – that clipped the top of the bar, then in the 26th minute Calum Martin hit a low angled shot that rolled past the far post.

Two minutes later, Brackley's Danny Spencer drilled in a good shot that Lewis Solly parried above his head.

Brackley grabbed the winner five minutes before the break. An excellent diagonal ball from Ben Mackey released Winters away in the left-channel area.

He rounded Solly before calmly slotting home. Dean Cracknell flashed narrowly wide a few minutes later.
