Poor defending and complacency saw Olympic throw away a 3-1 lead with 11 minutes remaining at bottom side Brigg Town.

In the 27th minute, the visitors broke away, with Simon Hollis setting up Nathan Lamey to score. Within three minutes Brigg had equalised, after Nathan Would found himself in space and fired into the bottom right corner.

In the 40th minute, goalkeeper Herrick and his skipper Spall got into an almighty tangle when the ball was played between them.

Lamey nipped in to lift a fine finish over Herrick. Three minutes later, Hollis tore down the flank before cutting inside the town box.

As the wide man checked his run and turned, Spall rather rashly took both legs from underneath the Pics wide man to concede a penalty. Richard Beale converted.

In the 73rd minute, Brigg were awarded a penalty of their own when Day was brought down by Beale. The home player picked himself up to take the kick but goalkeeper Tony Breeden saved superbly.

Lamey then missed a great chance to make it four and then Day turned to net with a speculative drive off a cross.

In injury time, another centre was headed home at the far post by Mick Jacklin.

Rushall: Tony Breeden, Lee Gough, Richard Beale, Niki Preston, Lee Barrow, Gary Fitzpatrick (Phil Rowe 79), Simon Hollis (Jamie Silver 79), Nathan Lamey, Paul Szewczyk (Neil Grainger 64), Ian Cooper, Grant Beckett.
