The Scholars, in fourth place, entertain Chesham who are third and Blakemore knows they need to show their best form.

He said: "They're one of the best sides in the league, if not the best on their day. Sometimes we let ourselves down against the top sides and we need to rectify that and go out and impose ourselves on the game.

"We've had a decent start and we need to build on it. It's a game we need to win if we want to do things in the league this season."

The Scholars have been drawn against Rothwell Town in the FA Cup second qualifying round next weekend, following their 4-2 win over Gresley Rovers last Saturday, but Blakemore has told his players to forget any cup glory.

He said: "I've told the lads we can't think about anything to do with the FA Cup. If we're not careful, Leamington are going to run away with the league and we need to keep in touch."
