Hackett calls for Stourbridge run

Stourbridge boss Gary Hackett believes a run of form will propel them up the table because the league is so close this season.

Stourbridge won at Buxton for the second time in a week to add an FA Trophy win to their FA Cup victory.

The Glassboys host Brackley before entertaining them again in the FA Cup second qualifying round seven days later, though Hackett only has eyes for the Southern League Premier Division.

With Stourbridge a lowly 18th, Hackett is understandably looking for his team to march up the table and realises hitting form will see a huge difference in their league position.

He said: "The good thing in football is that things can change very quickly. If you string together three wins on the bounce, you go from a dangerous position to being comfortable.

"Nine points is massive, but the hard part is getting the three wins."

Neither does Hackett believe the table is set in stone as the season moves towards the tradition ten game mark which is recognised as a good barometer for the year.

He said: "It will be changing constantly. A lot of it will be down to how much money people have spent.

"You can look at Farnborough, Halesowen and Corby. I know if I had that big a budget at my disposal I would expect to be up there."
