Mullen was dismissed from the bench after an altercation with the fourth official, as his side battled in the West Country.

Ricketts and Roberts had given them a 2-0 lead at half time, only for Steve Elliott to pull one back for Rovers 14 minutes from time.

The dangerous Ricketts sealed the game with a 90th minute penalty, after home defender Byron Anthony was sent off for a foul on Troy Deeney.

It was a fantastically resilliant and composed display from the Saddlers, who were missing captain Stephen Hughes through injury.

They did welcome back Rhys Weston in defence, with the former Arsenal man putting in a man of the match performance on his return from injury.
