The weekend saw yet more frustration for the Monmore men at the hands of the weather, as the visit to Eastbourne was called off around an hour before start time, because of the rain which lashed most of the UK over the weekend.

No date has yet been announced for the restaging.

The call-off marked Wolves' third postponement in a week. Monday's home clash with Ipswich and the visit to Lakeside on Friday were both rained off, while the one match that did go ahead saw the side trounced 63-29 at Swindon.

Howe will ride through the pain barrier as he continues to recover from a foot injury, while Niels Kristian Iversen's absence continues as he recuperates from the shoulder injuries sustained in Wolves' last trip to Manchester three weeks ago, with Wolves again using rider replacement.

The side will be looking to gain revenge on the Aces and pick up their first away win of 2008 at the same time.

New signing Ludvig Lindgren will be absent as he contests the Swedish Under-21 championship at Avesta, with Wolves No 8 Chris Neath – who celebrates his testimonial at Rye House on September 20 – replacing him at reserve.

The teenage Swede failed to score for Polish club Zielona Gora yesterday, while brother Fredrik fared better, scoring 14 in the side's win over Torun.

Fellow new Wolves capture Morten Risager scored five points for Grudziadz as they went down to a heavy defeat at Rybnik.

Belle Vue are again headed into battle by World Championship contender Jason Crump and ex-Wolf Charlie Gjedde, but impressive reserve Billy Forsberg is absent as he lines up alongside Lindgren at Avesta.

Aces No 8 Robert Ksiezak is likely to replace him.

Wolves are still looking for their first away win of the season and defeat at Kirkmanshulme Lane would mean they won't catch the Aces in the final league standings.

Tapes go up at Kirkmanshulme Lane at 7.30pm.

Wolves: Freddie Lindgren, Morten Risager, Niels Kristian Iversen R/R, Jesper B Monberg, David Howe, Nicolai Klindt, Chris Neath.
