Kidderminster midfielder Russell Penn believes that this season's Harriers side have more fight in them after his match-winning brace against Rushden & Diamonds.

Mark Yates' side found themselves behind after just 11 minutes of the Blue Square Premier clash at Aggborough. The lead lasted just three minutes, with Penn equalising and then scoring the winner 11 minutes from time for his first goals of the campaign.

The England C international is a fairly old head in what is a young Harriers side but he is sure of one thing about the new-look team - they will fight.

He said: "In the first half we probably just edged it, though the second half was a bit more of a fight. Perhaps that is something we didn't do enough of last season.

"Hopefully we can get into more of that this year, as there are a lot of battles on. It was a great performance from the boys and we deserved the victory."

"It's twice in a week we've come from a goal down and we've got the win this time, so we can push on to Thursday against Torquay now."

The Harriers are not expecting a flurry of transfer activity on transfer deadline day, although defender Keith Lowe and loan full-back Lee Baker are expected to pen deals to extend their stays at Aggborough.
