Monberg missing for Wolves trip

Wolves will be without Jesper B Monberg as they visit Belle Vue in their continuing search for a first away win in the 2008 Elite League.

Monberg, who scored just three points in the side's last gasp win over the Aces on Monday at Monmore, has a clashing fixture for his Danish League club Slangerup. Young Wolves asset Joe Haines makes his debut in the side in his place.

The 16-year-old, who is in his first full Premier League season for the Workington Comets, was earmarked for a future with the Monmore men at a fans' talk-in earlier in the season.

The Belle Vue clash will be an excellent chance for him to gain experience of the world's toughest league.

The meeting is Wolves' first trip to Manchester since Good Friday, when the side lost by eight points in a Craven Shield qualifier.

Nicolai Klindt impressed with a tactical ride victory in the penultimate heat – although his double points were later removed following a protest – while Ales Dryml defeated Jason Crump in the opening heat.

The Czech showed an upturn in form on Monday, being paid for 10 points, and he will look to further improve on a track he enjoys.

The success on Monday moved Wolves off the bottom of the Elite League table.

Team manager Peter Adams said: "We need to win away, and there would be no better place than Belle Vue."

The Aces will be without reserve Stanislaw Burza, who is expected to miss the rest of the season through injury. Glasgow's Robert Ksiezak deputises.

Crump will be hard to catch from the No.1 position, while Billy Forsberg will be a danger at reserve.
