Kidderminster have said goodbye to their longest-serving player by allowing midfielder Simon Russell to join York City - but have signed former Wolves defender Keith Lowe.
The 23-year-old was brought to the club in the summer of 2004 by former Harriers boss Jan Molby, who had him while managing Hull, his first club as a professional.
Russell has figured in every Conference campaign since the Harriers were relegated from the Football League, as well as making 29 appearance in their last season in what is now League Two. All in all, he made 154 appearances, scoring 17 goals in a Harriers shirt.
According to manager Mark Yates, moving closer to home was the motivation for the Kingston-upon-Hull born player.
He said: "Simon has been a great servant to this club over the last few years. We were trying to tie something up with him here but unfortunately he has not been able to get what he was looking for. He is disappointed we haven't been able to work things out.
"We knew of interest from York City and we've agreed to let him to go back nearer to his home, which is something he wanted. We wish him every success with his new club."
Coming into Aggborough is former Wolves defender Keith Lowe, who has penned non-contract forms with the Harriers.
He is a free agent after his release from Molineux last season and spent some of the summer on trial with Yates' side, playing against Hereford in a pre-season friendly.
The Wolverhampton-born full-back certainly has pedigree and has never figured outside of the Football League, with over 70 appearances under his belt, 14 of those for Wolves in the Championship.
