Wolves are all set to hit the road for two Elite League away trips in two days, visiting Ipswich tonight and Lakeside tomorrow.
The side enters the clash at Foxhall Heath on a high following an unexpected victory over Midland rivals Coventry on Monday, although Freddie Lindgren and Niels Kristian Iversen were disappointed to see last night's Elite League Riders' Championship at Birmingham washed out.
A quality line-up assembled for Perry Barr's biggest meeting since its opening last year but rain became heavier throughout the afternoon.
Despite the track staff's best efforts – including the use of a jet-powered dryer to attempt to dry out the shale – a downpour shortly before 7pm resulted in a call-off. No restaging date has yet been agreed.
Jesper B Monberg is fit to compete for Wolves following his crash at Monmore on Monday. The Dane was involved in a pile-up after locking up in heat four and withdrew from the meeting on doctor's orders, after suffering a knock to the head.
The club are waiting on news on the fitness of Kenneth Hansen, who missed Monday's meeting with a virus. It has yet to be confirmed if he will be fit to ride.
The side put the Witches out of the Knockout Cup earlier in the year and will be looking to be sharp from the start, on a track which often favours fast gaters.
The Witches are led by Polish star Piotr Swiderski and Australian Rory Schlein, who recently joined the Suffolk side on loan from Coventry as part of Hans Andersen's move to the Bees, while former Wolf Steve Johnston could be a danger at reserve.
The mood at Foxhall was dampened earlier this week, by news that former Witch Kim Jansson had been paralysed in a crash in his native Sweden.
Wolves will visit the Lakeside Hammers tomorrow and will be eager for success, following the Hammers' 47-43 win at the Green on August 11th.
Both of the Monmore men's scheduled visits to the Essex club so far have been rained off. Reports from Sweden have stated that Jonas Davidsson – who scored a paid maximum in the Hammers' win at Monmore – suffered shoulder and chest injuries in a crash on Tuesday.
Tapes go up at Foxhall Heath at 7.30pm.
