Rangers are unbeaten after three games of Bully's first season as a boss and his first involvement in the Blue Square North in any capacity, a hard fought opening day win against Farsley preceding score draws at Vauxhall Motors and Workington.

While some fans will be pleased with such a start, especially after two away games, it remains that if the team had not conceded 80th and 75th minute goals respectively, they would be flying even higher.

That is not lost on Bully - and he is not resting on his laurels.

He said: "As far as I am concerned, we should have nine points from our opening three games. That would have put us second, which would have been a great position to be at this point.

"The players are disappointed not glad to be unbeaten, which shows the attitude we have. At Workington, it was not so much the late goal that did us but the first. If we had gone in at half-time 2-0 up, there is no doubt in my mind we would have won.

"I couldn't really fault the players because they gave me 100 per cent and I cannot ask for anymore than that. If we can just tighten up at the back, then we will be a force this season I am sure of it."

Other news coming out of Marston Road is the return of the club's official golf day, hosted by the one and only Bully himself, at the Ingestre Park Golf Club an October 10.

Bully, who sports a 14 handicap, will be playing in event sponsor Casa Bar's team, with a maximum of 24 teams able to enter in the event, in teams of a maximum of four players.

To enter a team costs £350 plus VAT, with a three-course dinner, entertainment, prize presentation and goody bag for the teams involved. A chunk of the proceeds will go to Stafford General Hospital's Childrens Ward and local charities.

He said: "This is something that the club and myself are very keen on. It is always a good day out and a great time. Plus, a lot of business is done on the golf course!"
