The Dane has been a big success in his loan spell from Peterborough, but could find little of his trademark verve and dash.

He said: "Personally, I think I rode like a bag of garbage. I didn't really have any races where I did well.

"I tried both bikes. The bikes seemed to be OK but it was just one of those bad nights. They even had a weak team and we still couldn't beat them."

So incensed was Iversen that he hurled his goggles to the floor and repeatedly punched the metal back wall of the pit area.

He said: "If you don't care then there's no point in riding. I hate losing."
