Yates to land Premier player
Kidderminster manager Mark Yates is hoping to tie up the loan signing of a player from a Premier League club by the end of the day.
Kidderminster manager Mark Yates is hoping to tie up the loan signing of a player from a Premier League club by the end of the day.
The Harriers boss has yet to reveal the identity of the mystery player but it is believed talks have been on-going for some time, with a successful resolution expected in the next 24 hours.
The club are also expecting to announce the permanent signing of trial defender Michael Bowler, who will pen a deal at Aggborough later today.
Yates has already signed trialists Sam Foley, Martin Brittain, David McDermott and Michael Riley in a mad few days leading up to the big kick-off against Lewes on Saturday - and it does not look like he is finished yet.
He said: "All four of the players already brought in deserve their deals. I never regarded them as trialists. They were brought in to show me what they can do and they have done that. They have the sort of hunger I want in my squad.
"They are also in the sort of age bracket where their best years are ahead of them and the experience will come.
"When it does and our young side gel together, the fans will see the benefits of what we are trying to do.
"As for Michael Bowler, we should have him signed up by the end of today. We would have done it already, but his agent needs to sign one of the forms so he is on his way down."
