Bully faces the club where he made his name as a player for the first time as boss, with Wolves manager Mick McCarthy naming a strong squad for the match.

The likes of Darren Potter, Mark Little, Carl Ikeme, Darren Ward, Denes Rosa and Stephen Elliott will all figure. Liam Hughes, who had a loan spell at Stafford last season, is also included.

The Rangers boss is still fuming from his side's horror show in a 6-0 defeat against Wrexham on Saturday and he warns his side if they play like that tonight, another drubbing is on the cards.

He said: "Wrexham were a strong side but we made them look good as well, we were that poor. Wolves are likely to be stronger, so we need to put up a fight.

"This is a big test in front of what I am hoping will be a big crowd at Marston Road. The last thing I want is another good hiding four days before the season starts.

"I would also like to thank Wolves manager Mick McCarthy and chief executive Jez Moxey for bringing a strong team down for the game. When I took this job, they promised they would help in any way they can and they have done.

"It is great that a club where I spent 13 years as a player are happy to help me."

Despite such a drubbing against Wrexham, Bully did take positives from the game, in the way Brian Little's side applied themselves against his side.

He said: "Wrexham were physically strong and as for their two strikers, we could just not muscle them off the ball. They had a big target man who could bring the ball down and play.

"I would love to bring in a player like that, but unfortunately they don't grow on trees. Out of our strikers, Nick Wellecome is the sort of player we could use in such a role. Maybe when we return to training, that is something we could look at and work on."

Stafford fans at the game tonight will be able to see the home shirt when it is worn by the squad for the first time.

They will also be able to buy the shirt from the club shop, at a reduced rate of £30 for adults and £25 for children.
