Harriers Redditch friendly off

Kidderminster's first pre-season friendly at Blue Square North side Redditch tomorrow afternoon has been called off.

The playing surface at the Valley Stadium has been deemed unplayable by the club, with the pitch waterlogged following heavy rain in the area over the last few days.

Yates had been looking to the match to blood some of the trial players at the club and as a useful fitness exercise.

Instead he will have to look forward to the visit of League One side Hereford to Aggborough on Monday.

He said: "We could have done without it, because the fixture would have been useful for our preparations but it can't be helped.

"It would have been a good fitness exercise for us and the chance for me to try some different systems.

"We also have a number of trial players at the club that would have been used but they will get their chance again."
