Fordhouses produced an impressive display to grab a dramatic last over success against Lichfield last weekend.

Now the captain is looking for more of the same when they take on Bablake Old Boys in a key relegation battle on Saturday. Victory will lift Thompson's men out of the bottom four.

He said: "Last week's performance was our best for two years. We batted and bowled well and it was good to see everyone contributing.

"Now I want more of the same and I'm looking for a repeat performance on Saturday."

Adnan Raees (89) and Thompson (53) led the way with the bat as Fordhouses piled up 268-7 from 52 overs.

John Reid (27) and Gagan Kohil (32 not out) boosted the total with a late flurry.

Thompson saw his decision to declare early reap a reward when Kash Hussein bagged the final Lichfield wicket with just two balls of the game remaining.

Hussein and Anan Patel picked up three wickets each with Sohail Rahi going one better to bag 4-63.

Wombourne head into their top-of-the-table clash with Olton and West Warwicks on Saturday looking to bounce back from their second defeat of the season.

Liam Hughes's men were beaten by five wickets last weekend by Colesill but they remain 31 points clear of Saturday's opponents at the top of the table.

Olton can close to within touching distance with a victory and Wombourne will be looking for an improvement on last week, when they were restricted to 159-9 and saw Coleshill reach 163-5.
