Fancied Pelsall bang on form
Pre-season favourites Pelsall are making up for lost time in their resurgence.
Pre-season favourites Pelsall are making up for lost time in their resurgence.
After an indifferent start, Paul Grainger's side have been in good form, reeling off four wins and two winning draws from their last six.
Their latest success, a tense three-wicket win over Hammerwich, lifted them to fourth.
He said: "It took us a while to get going this, but now we're playing pretty well.
"We have put together a decent run and we need to keep that going."
Aussie Curtis Montgomerie hit a six off the penultimate ball to win it on Saturday.
Dave Barton was unbeaten on 71 at the other end, as Pelsall overhauled 214.
Jamie Holmes and Danny Pennell both bagged three wickets for Pelsall.
Beacon skipper Craig Jones has his sights set on a late summer surge after a "best of the season" display at Springvale.
They got the better of their title-chasing opponents thanks to an impressive all-round display capped by Andy Green.
Green maintained his form with a run-a-ball century as Beacon piled up 303-7, Sohail Afzal (65), Jones (55) and Jason Swan (35) supporting.
Springvale were never in the hunt as they finished on 156-8, with Swan and Mike Dodunski picking up three wickets each.
Jones said: "It was a good performance, probably our best of the season, and the first time we've clicked with both bat and ball."
