After overcoming a testing start to the season with a series of impressive performances, Himley's attempts to reach the calmer waters of mid-table were dashed by the weather last weekend, with their clash at Shifnal washed out.

Greg Wright's side are currently 21 points above the drop zone, but the Stourbridge Road skipper is eager to start climbing the table.

He said: "We had a decent run of results, but it's been a couple of weeks since we won and we need to get back to winning ways.

"Some of the momentum we had built up has fallen away in recent weeks.

"We are in the bottom half of the league and we want to get some points on the board to climb into the top half of the table."

Wright is expecting a testing battle at Chester Road tomorrow and has noted the impact Kidderminster's South African paceman Mario Saliwa has made in his debut Birmingham League season.

He said: "They are going well this season and it will be a tough place to go.

"I haven't played against him yet, but I have heard good things about their overseas player Mario Saliwa.

"He has made an impact for them and the number of wickets he has taken suggests he will be a handful."

Moeen Ali will lead West Bromwich Dartmouth's survival struggle after becoming their fourth captain of the season.

The Worcestershire batsman follows Harshad Patel, Ruqi de Silva and Chris Abbey as skipper of the struggling Sandwell Park side this summer.

Patel is two weeks into a four-week enforced time-out with a finger injury.

He said:"We've chopped and changed with the captaincy with Ruqi and Chris, but I've given it to Moeen because he's available and has played for the last two or three weeks.

Leaders Wolverhampton provide the opposition tomorrow and a parallel in the teams' contrasting fortunes is shown in the form of the overseas players.

Indian Test player Sairaj Bahutule has taken the premier division by storm for the Danescourt side, while all-rounder T P Sudindra has played just one game for Dartmouth since his belated arrival from Delhi Jets.

Patel said: "Bahutule has done really well. When you compare that to our pro, he has only been here two weeks and played one game after we were rained off last week.

"Bahutule has more experience than our pro and it takes time to get used to to the weather and conditions, but yes it would be great for him to have a similar impact."
