Lindgren, third in the World title race going into the weekend, tangled with Lukas Dryml during a qualifying heat in Copenhagen and was sent flying into the air fence.

The young Swede spent Saturday night in hospital with rib injuries, and Wolves will operate rider replacement for their captain tonight as he recuperates.

Better news for the Monmore men also came from the meeting in Parken, as Niels Kristian Iversen's comeback from a dislocated shoulder proved successful.

The Dane scored six points in his home Grand Prix, and will line up for Wolves for the first time in four weeks tonight.

The side lost 55-37 to Poole at Wimborne Road last Wednesday, with David Howe, Ales Dryml and Nicolai Klindt scoring just one point between them.

Kenneth Hansen did show another burst of form, with seven points from reserve as his confidence in the world's toughest league continues to improve.

Wolves will be hoping for good weather and a fast track surface, as they make another attempt to climb up the Elite League table and avoid the relegation play-offs.

The Pirates will be spearheaded by Danish star Bjarne Pedersen and Australian Chris Holder, who qualified for the World Under-21 final with 12 points at his semi-final at Rye House.

Wolves asset Tai Woffinden finished runner-up to Swindon's Troy Batchelor in the meeting on his home track, while Freddie Lindgren's brother Ludvig also qualified for the final in the Czech Republic in October.

Tapes go up tonight at Monmore Green at 7.30pm.
