Harriers assistant manager Neil Howarth said: "We worked very hard and took our chances well.

"Matthew Barnes-Homer took his goals well and I suppose he should have played more games this season, but we started with some good strikers and he had to wait his chance."

Harriers took a 27th-minute lead when Iyseden Christie fed the ball into the area and Barnes-Homer shrugged off the challenge

of Josh Coulson to slip the ball under Alex McCarthy.

The visitors' first attack of the second half paid off, Brian Smikle bursting into the area and squaring for Barnes-Homer, whose shot went through the legs of Wayne Hatswell to extend the lead on 68 minutes.

The visitors created an opening down the right flank but Hatswell appeared to have the low cross covered. Inexplicably he lost control and Brian Smikle nipped in to score.

However, the referee had blown for Hatswell's trip on Smikle and Christie sent McCarthy the wrong way from the penalty spot.
