Chasetown sign midfielder

Chasetown have signed Worcester midfielder Nick Colley to boost their options before tonight's big derby at play-off rivals Stourbridge.

Colley has got his career back on track after once falsely claiming he had cancer after raising £6,000 in donations while he was at Tamworth in 2004.

But the former Stafford Rangers player escaped prosecution after admitting he was depressed.

Scholars boss Charlie Blakemore said: "I know all about his history but I've signed him for football reasons.

"It happened four years ago and he went through troubled times but he's had four good years at Worcester and demonstrated it's behind him.

"He'll be a fantastic signing for the club and can see the ambition we've got here."

Fellow midfielder Marlon Walters is also in contention for the first time since his return from the United States.

The Scholars are aiming for their fourth successive win – and all have been on their travels.

But former Glassboys striker Blakemore is warning his side of a stern test at the War Memorial Ground.

"All of the three away games have been tough and this one will be no different," he said.

"We've picked up nine points from the three away games so the lads are in good spirits but no one's under-estimating Stourbridge.

"There's definitely an edge to the game because there's so much at stake – there will be a big crowd and we're up for it, but I'm sure they will be equally up for it.

"We beat them 3-2 earlier in the season but form goes out of the window in a local derby. We have to prove ourselves again."

Chasetown midfielder Sam Smith has completed his move to Willenhall.
