Stafford manager Steve Bull's dream home debut against fellow strugglers Farsley Celtic failed to come off as Rangers lost 2-0.
The pressure of the bumper crowd and the injury crisis could have got to the Stafford players who worked hard but never really got on top of a workmanlike Farsley side who seemed to be boosted by the packed ground.
And after a number of near misses Stafford eventually went behind after 25 minutes.
Farsley's Watson got to the byline and his cross picked out Torpey at the far post whose powerful downward header gave Allock no chance.
Bully roared his team on from the sideline as Rangers battled for the equaliser but sadly for them Farsley went further ahead in the second half to give Stafford a mountain to climb in their battle to avoid the drop.
